Cultural Competency Training Made Just for Optometry Now Available  

VSP Vision™ is partnering with HUED, a leading health equity company, to offer a unique Cultural Competency and Humility training that is customized specifically for optometry. Cultural competence and cultural humility set the stage for inclusive patient communication and treatment and directly impacts the health inequities faced by marginalized communities.

This optional training is available at no cost to doctors as part of your participation in the VSP^® network.

Following the training, doctors will receive COPE Accreditation and a CE credit, placement on HUED’s directory (optional), a HUED badge for their LinkedIn profile, and a certificate of completion.

The one-hour training includes a glossary of key terms, a personal action plan, videos in applying cultural competency, best practices for provider-patient communication, and learn checks to assess provider-patient interactions.

Already completed Cultural Competency training with VSP this year or prior? Great! This is simply an advanced offering to strengthen and complement your training, while also providing you with badges and accreditation you can share with your patients.
